2004 Speed Week - August 17

August 17 2004 Tuesday Morning we arrived to find that N49 had spent a quiet night in pre-stage. Ted went right to work while the record runs took place making a jet change for Don's morning run.	August 17 2004 Dons Highboy in the foreground while N49 waits in the staging lane Tuesday morning.
August 17 2004 Tuesday was a cool windy morning Don put on his race suit early to stay warm.	August 17 2004 We began monitoring the truck more in 2004 with the addition of a Cambell Scientific 21X Data Logger and Innovate Motorsports O2 sensor. The 21x is a retired logger from an Alaskan remote weather station, it does a great job of collecting our exhaust gas temperatures, as well as wheel and engine speed every half second during a run.
August 17 2004 Slowly but surely we made our way to the start and Don embarked on his first run of the week.	August 17 2004 The wind made the truck tough to handle and Don eased up for a 162.889 pass.
After Teds handling issues on Monday, folloews by Don's problems Tuesday monring we deciede to ad some more castor to the front end. Tuesday afternoon was spent wrestling with the front axle.	We finished the day off with 1149 ready for Wednesday morning.
