N49 Land Speed Racing Club

On Tuesday Ted made 2 attempts to better Don's speed but came up short. In the first run Ted only made it to 195.319 before the electrical system in 1149 went flat. We run a "Total Loss" system, that means that the truck has no alternator, unfortunately Tuesday in staging we had neglected charging the battery. 
During the second run number 7 cylinder leaned out excessively and we cooked a valve in #7 and found during the Tuesday evening valve train check that we'd lost 54 thou as it tuliped into the port. Upon finding the bad valve we pulled the left head for further inspection and found some piston/head interference. These pictures show the matching pattern where the pistons were touching the head.
