"North of 49" Construction

small logo

July, 2002

Ted Allan devoted his entire month of July to completing the car in time for Speed Week 2002. Over the course of the month, portions of the car were re-built countless times as parts were fit and re-fit. Missing pieces of the project were acquired or fabricated, and all the "finishing details" were worked through. When it rolled out of the trailer onto the Bonneville Salt Flats, the roadster pickup would be a complete and beautifully finished race car.

July 18 All the tabs and anchoring points added, all the welds checked and double-checked, the completed chassis is off to Top Gun Coatings. where it will be powder coated red.

The following sequence is awesome, consider it one week in the life of Ted Allan, and Allan Rod & Custom.

Construction of North of 49 had been complete before disassembly for powder coating. This made the re-assembly work much smoother
