"North of 49" Construction

February was a busy month in the birth of "North of 49". Calgary's ISCA show "World of Wheels" was scheduled for the weekend of the 22nd to 24th and the crew was planning to debut the roadster pickup in as close to finished form as possible.

 

This weekend the skin was off the car and the finish welding was being done on the chassis and cage.

Headlight stalks sprout from the front end. Headlights are a necessary item in the Street Roadster class. Required: two headlights facing forward in stock orientation.

Headlights shall be at least 5 inches in diameter. Both lights will be mounted outside the vertical edges of the grill shell and between 18" and 24" from the ground, measured to the centerline of the headlight.

The installation of the Halibrand quick-change rear end donated to the project by Ted Allan.

Out front in the showroom at Allan Rod & Custom we see that the wheel disks have arrived.
